Easter, my birthday and a congressman... oh my!

Look.. it's me and US Congressman Paul Ryan!!! Anyway, we've been very busy since I last posted which is why it's been so long. I'm trying to transition over to working at night after the kids go to bed which is turning out to be a challenge when it comes to me getting sleep. I'm getting just enough sleep each day to squeak through the next day... I am starting to feel (or look) like a zombie though. God always gives me what I need... I just have to keep telling myself that. I need to treasure the days of my children being small. Even though it's more work, it's such a short time, and I'll never be able to go back once they're big.

On Saturday we went to Egg Day at the zoo with our friends from church. The kids ran like crazy for 4 hours at the zoo, and then we decided to go to Red Lobster with all 7 kids. I know what you're picturing - tired, screaming kids, everybody staring at us. Not so... it was actually a very nice meal, and 2 older couples actually commented us on how well we were raising our children. That's always nice to hear!

On Sunday we went to EARLY church (8:00 a.m. service) and then came home to have our first annual Easter brunch. After the kids woke up from naps we then headed over to my parents' house for Easter dinner/my birthday dinner. It was sooooooooo good. We had Culver's cookies and cream concrete cake. It was very, very good. Much more saturated fat that I should have had.

Then yesterday, for my actual birthday, we went to see US Congressman Paul Ryan. He was having a listening session near us. He is definitely going to be the next president. The biggest up and coming Republican there is right now. He took a picture with me and gave me a happy birthday autograph. That was definitely a birthday highlight for me... I know...I'm such a nerd.

Tomorrow we're off to the zoo again with our home school/church friends. It's is supposed to be very nice!!! Finally!

A few pictures from the past week:

Middle-G playing baseball and peeking down at me from up in the fort.

Big-G making a basket and then looking very serious and grown up.

Big-G making a silly face, and Papa and Little-G resting in the sun.

Big-G wrote out happy birthday for me with his matchbox cars.

Here is me blowing out my candle on the yummy Culver's custard cake.
